The Town of Sharon looks like a typical New England town. With a population of 17,500, it is comprised of a highly educated, residential area with a beautiful landscape. People move to Sharon for the school system and for its natural beauty. Sharon is located between Boston, MA and Providence, RI. We enjoy strong alliances with surrounding towns and often work together on large projects like the Marijuana Facility.

The Town of Sharon is home to 2 Mosques, many Temples, Churches and a
diverse population from many parts of the world. There is a large Asian, Russian,
Middle Eastern, and East Indian population.



The Sharon Police Department is made up of 31 full time Police Officers, several Special Police officers, and 6 civilian Dispatchers.

The Sharon PD seeks qualified candidates for the role of Police Officer. They are currently looking to fill (2) two immediate openings, and an anticipated 2-4 positions within the next year. The Department offers a competitive salary and benefits package:

  • July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023 (Salary Range $52,642 - $69,803)

  • Quinn Bill (10% Associate Degree, 20% Bachelor Degree)

  • 70% Town 30% Employee Insurance Compensation

  • Education Reimbursement

  • Uniform Allowance

  • 11 Holidays

  • Night Shift Differential

  • EMT Stipend
